High School Regionals
High School Regional Competition Locations
Registration for the 2026 regional competitions will open October 6, 2025, at 12:00 noon Eastern time.
To view the regional competition locations, select the state for your school to view the regional competition location. Select the link that is listed for school's location.
Please note: Registrations are based on the location of your school.
Please be sure to select the regional that is designated for your school’s state, county, city, or district.
A school may only participate in its assigned regional event in order to advance to the National Finals. In other words, a school may request to compete in a different regional event; however, the team will NOT qualify for the National Finals should the team win the competition.
If a team qualifies, the team may choose to compete in the Nationwide High School Virtual Regional Science Bowl, scheduled for February 28, 2026.
Note: all virtual competitions will be using a NEW head-to-head format this year.
- To register for the Nationwide High School Virtual Regional Science Bowl,
- 1) click on your state below,
- 2) then click on any of the listed regional events,
- 3) click on “register your team here,” and
- 4) follow the instructions. When given the option to select the event for which you are registering, choose “Nationwide Virtual High School Regional” and submit your preregistration.
After you submit your preregistration, please email National.Science.Bowl@science.doe.gov, and provide your name, school, and justification to qualify for the Nationwide Virtual High School Regional.
