Recommender Information

For Applicants

Your CCI application requires two letters of recommendation from individuals who can objectively assess your education, training, experience, aptitude, or potential relevant to the CCI Program.

Who Should Be Your Recommender?

Ideal recommenders include:

  • STEM course instructors
  • Internship mentors/supervisors
  • Research advisors

Recommendations are not permitted from family members, friends, or friends of family members.

Recommendation Submission Process:

  1. Applicant Action: You will provide contact information for your recommenders within the online application system.
  2. Automated Request: Once you submit this information, an automated email will be sent to your recommenders. This email will contain instructions and access details for the online recommendation system.
  3. Recommender Action: Recommenders must complete and submit their recommendation form directly through the online system by the application deadline.

Important Tips for Applicants:

  • Request Early: We strongly encourage you to request recommendations as soon as possible.
  • Discuss in advance: Discuss your request with potential recommenders in advance and allow them ample time to complete the form.
  • Follow-Up: It is your responsibility to remind your recommenders to submit their forms by the application deadline.
  • Only On-line Submission: All recommendations must be submitted via the online system. Email submissions or other methods will not be accepted, and there are no exceptions.

For Recommenders

Thank you for agreeing to provide a recommendation for an applicant to the Community College Internship (CCI) Program. Your insights are crucial to the selection process.

  • Submission Deadline: Recommendations must be submitted through the online system by the application deadline, which is January 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM ET.
  • Recommendation Content: Your letter should objectively assess the applicant's education, training, experience, aptitude, or promise relevant to the CCI Program.
  • Submission Method: You will receive an automated email from the application system containing instructions and a link to access the online recommendation system and complete the required form.
