Dr. El-Khoury is the Program Manager for Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Sciences in the Chemical Sciences, Geosciences, and Biosciences Division of the Office of Basic Energy Sciences, Office of Science, U. S. Department of Energy.
Before Joining DOE in November 2024, Dr. El-Khoury was a chemical physicist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL, 2012-2024). His fundamental research program was aimed at observing (bio)chemistry in real space-time, i.e., with joint femtosecond temporal and nanometer spatial resolution. To that end, his team developed unique instrumentation that combines tools of scanning probe microscopy with (non)linear optical spectroscopy. Dr. El-Khoury co-authored over 125 peer-reviewed publications in topics relevant to Basic Energy Sciences as well as Biological and Environmental Research.
