Beth Bryan, Coach
Coach Beth Bryan currently teaches sixth, seventh and eighth grade gifted and talented classes. She taught math most of her twenty five years teaching. Coach Bryan earned National Board Certification in early adolescence mathematics. Makerspaces are her passion which led to receiving a Fund For Teachers grant to train and visit nationally renowned makerspaces. Coach Bryan enjoys helping her students excel in STEM competitions. She has had multiple teams qualify for the National Future City Engineering Competition in Washington D.C. Traveling with her family is one of her favorite activities. Much of her time this year has been spent with her daughter as she excitedly prepares to attend college in the fall.
Clark Shorow
Clark Shorow is an eighth-grader at Sequoyah Middle School. He really enjoys the subject of English at school, and hopes that he can become a writer or a filmmaker. He is involved in many clubs such as Science Bowl and academic teams. Clark was captain of both of those teams. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He also did junior varsity north swimming, is then number one singles for the tennis team, and he plays violin for his school's orchestra. Clark even made the North Central Honors Orchestra. He also spends time on the technology crew and in the youth group at First Christian church. Clark spends his free time reading or watching movies. He also likes puzzles and escape rooms. Sometimes he likes to cook and bake many meals and desserts.
Rohan Kamdar
Rohan Amit Kamdar is a seventh-grader that believes that academics are very important to a young adult's life. He is a model student, with a 4.0 grade point average. He is also in clubs such as Science Olympiad and Science Bowl. He is the president of his local Technology Student Association chapter as well. Aside from school, he enjoys many hobbies such as violin, reading, basketball, and crocheting. As for his future plans, Rohan hopes to attend his dream college, Harvard University. He eventually hopes to graduate from law school and become a lawyer.
Caitlin Sorrell
Caitlin Sorrell, a seventh-grader at Sequoyah Middle School, plays violin in the orchestra. She really enjoys fiber arts. She crochets, knits, drop spins, cross-stitches, needlepoints, and latch hooks. She also loves digital art and painting. Caitlin loves to try new sports. She has done cross country, swimming, soccer, and karate so far. Her favorite subjects in school are English, science, and math - basically everything because she loves to learn new things. In the future, she would like to go to college and train in veterinary science or medical professions. If she has any free time, she is crafting or watching documentaries. She is also a big sister and a dog mom. She believes that science is for everyone and looks forward to continuing to learn and eventually working in a science-related field. One club she participates in is the Science Olympiad with some friends at her school.
Joseph Tharp
Joseph Tharp is on the Sequoyah Middle School Science Bowl team. He originally joined the team because he likes challenging himself. Things like riddles and puzzles are some of the things he does to keep his mind in shape. He also knows it is important to keep his body in shape. That is why he plays different sports in and out of school. He has been on his current basketball team for six seasons, and he plays football for his school. He plays these sports not just because they are fun, but also because they help him learn about teamwork, which is extremely important for Science Bowl. Joseph also joined Science Bowl because it can help him get into Brigham Young University, which is the college he wants to go to. He wants to go there because it has amazing math and science programs which are his favorite subjects. Joseph wants to be a meteorologist when he is older.
Andrew Worley
Andrew Worley has a lot of interests. He likes all of his classes, traveling around the world, and sports. He recently found out about Science Bowl, and he immediately wanted to do it. He wants to get into an Ivy League school, and he will work hard to achieve that goal. As well as doing Science Bowl, he also participates in Science Olympiad, plays first trombone, runs and medals in cross country, and plays Junior Varsity Basketball for his school. His favorite thing is his dog, Kona, and his old dog, Molly.
