Kris Clements, Coach
Coach Kris Clements has taught at Caddo Parish Magnet High School since 1991 and teaches chemistry I honors, AP chemistryI, organic chemistry, medical interventions, and AP capstone.  She attended college at Louisiana State University-Shreveport and loves what she does for a living every day!  Coach Clements is coordinator for the school science fair, regional director of the Louisiana Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, chairman of the national JSHS oral presentations’ judging, and advisor for several clubs at her school. She is married to the love of her life, Marcus, and they have loved many cats in their thirty four years together, with the current two being Mooch and Elusive.  Her hobbies include cooking, knitting, needlepointing, reading, riding her bicycle, walking, watching college sports, and she taught folks how to drive their cars on racetracks in Texas for ten years.

Nhi Dao
Nhi Dao is a junior who has a passion for scientific research, mathematics, and music. She is president of her school’s Mu Alpha Theta club and a two-time International Science and Engineering Fair finalist for her research on knot theory. Nhi hopes to major in mathematics and pursue a M.D. - Ph.D. Outside of academics, Nhi enjoys playing the clarinet and spending time with her family, friends, and cat.

Andrew Minagar
Andrew Minagar is a junior whose favorite subjects include biology and mathematics.  He is a 2022 USA Biology Olympiad semifinalist and will conduct research at the Research Science Institute this summer.  An avid Quiz Bowler, he has been the best individual Quiz Bowl player in Louisiana two years in a row and recently placed fifth at the Individual Player National Championship Tournament Quiz bowl. In his free time, he enjoys studying foreign languages and catching up on politics.  In the future, Andrew hopes to pursue a career investigating the pathophysiology of neuroimmunological disorders.

Sonya Patel
Sonya Patel is a junior in high school.  Her favorite subjects are biology, literature, and art.  Sonya enjoys spending her time listening to music while painting or drawing, reading, swimming, and practicing piano.  She is an active member in numerous clubs through her school, such as service-oriented organizations, including National Honors Society and Key Club.  Sonya also participates in other STEM-related clubs such as Science Bowl, and Rocketry, where they participate and compete in the Teen American Rocketry Challenge.  She also has and continues to participate in Destination Imagination improv acting and creative writing.  Sonya has been interested in science since middle school and hopes to pursue a career in the medical field.

Anjali Veerareddy
Anjali Veerareddy is a sophomore whose interests include traveling, reading, and playing piano. She actively participates in service oriented clubs, including Key Club and National Honor Society, and holds leadership positions in GirlUp, The United Nations Children’s Fund, and Ted-Ed. Anjali has competed in regional and state science fairs and enjoys conducting investigative research. She tutors underclassmen in various mathematics subjects and is a member of Mu Alpha Theta. In her free time, Anjali enjoys listening to Bollywood music, dancing, and watching movies. She hopes to pursue a career in applied mathematics or biological sciences.

Raj Letchuman
Raj Letchuman is a junior at Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He enjoys astronomy, space science, and engineering and is an officer of his school’s astronomy club. He aims to spread his enthusiasm for astronomy to fellow students. In addition, he enjoys math and science, as well as the outdoors, frequently fishing and playing tennis. Raj hopes to pursue a career in space exploration or aerospace engineering.
