Lyle Koonce, Coach
Coach Lyle Koonce has taught mathematics at BASIS San Antonio Shavano since 2015 and has taught all math courses from pre-algebra up through AP calculus BC, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.  Initially attending the University of Texas San Antonio as a Music Major, he soon discovered that mathematics was what truly interested him and quickly changed his major to mathematics.  While a graduate student, he discovered that he enjoyed the art of communicating mathematics and made up his mind to become a teacher.  Coach Koonce enjoys spending time with his wife and three amazing children, working in his garden, and playing guitar, mandolin, lap steel, and trumpet (when time allows).
