Kristina DeMarco
Coach Kristina DeMarco has taught at American Heritage since 2011. She attended William Carey College, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology. She began her teaching career in Florida, where she lives with her two children. She is currently teaching seventh grade life science, eighth grade college prep physical science, and ninth grade college prep biology. In her free time, Coach DeMarco enjoys reading, playing sports, and coaching her son's soccer team.
Sharvva Selvan
Sharvaa Selvan is a junior at American Heritage Broward. At school, he can be found doing Science Bowl, math, and debate. In his free time, Sharvaa enjoys practicing the guitar, reading comics, and being absolutely horrible at League of Legends. While Sharvaa enjoys reading about any subject, his personal favorite is chemistry. He plans on majoring in material science when he gets to college.
Rithvik Marri
Rithvik Marri is a sophomore at American Heritage Broward. He likes math and science, specifically biology. He has been part of the math club and Science Bowl for at least four years, since middle school. In the future, Rithvic wants to be a physician in the field of neuroscience or a researcher in the same field. Some of his other hobbies include swimming, where he practices six times a week, and watching sports like football and basketball, with his favorite teams being the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Heat.
Sanshray Singh
Sanshray Singh is a junior at American Heritage School plantation. He has competed on Science Bowl teams since seventh grade. This year he is excited to be a part of the National Science Bowl for the first time. Of course, he enjoys science and is part of the science research club at school, and his favorite sciences are probably biology and environmental, and within that genetics and viruses. Sanshray is also a major automotive enthusiast and loves to drive. In his spare time, he watches late night TV, plays basketball, maybe writes part of a novel that might not exist, and reads National Geographic, Time, and Car and Driver magazines. At this point, however, he simply cannot believe it is already time to apply to college!
Saathvik Selvan
Saathvik Selvan is a senior at American Heritage Broward. He is a part of many clubs such as Science Bowl, Mu Alpha Theta, and Competitive Programming. He greatly enjoys doing math, computer science, and physics, and is excited to be going to University of California: Berkeley for Computer Science in the fall. He is deeply interested in specific areas of computer science involving algorithms and machine learning, and loves participating in various programming competitions, whether it be individually or with the team at his school. Some of Saathvik’s other hobbies include running, jamming out on the drums, and playing various games (such as osu! and Celeste).
Himashi Balasuriya
Himashi Balasuriya is a freshman at American Heritage. At school she participates in the math club and Science Bowl. Her favorite subjects are biology and math, though she loves any and all science. In her free time Himashi can be found drawing, reading, singing, playing piano, sculpting, or practicing for upcoming math competitions.
