Hopkins School - Southern New England Regional Middle School Science Bowl
Coach Jen Stauffer has taught at Hopkins School since 2003. During that time she has taught biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and earth science. In addition to teaching, while at Hopkins she has coached Science Olympiad and Science Bowl teams and was the chair of the science department. Coach Stauffer is a proud mom, enjoys hiking with her sheepdogs, and is an avid reader.
Coach Nathaniel Peters has taught physics and astrophysics at Hopkins School since 2018. In addition to working with the Science Bowl team, he's also a softball and basketball coach for the Hilltoppers and works with the Robotics Team. He enjoys running, hiking, playing with his parents' dog, and baking cookies.
Benji is an eighth-grade student from Hopkins School. He participated in Science Olympiads in sixth grade. He also loves to ski, play soccer and play video games. This is his second year participating in the Science Bowl.
Kyle is an eighth-grade student who is interested in science, math, and cello. He is also an avid reader and enjoys playing ping-pong and hiking. This is his second year participating in the Science Bowl.
Sara Blank is an eighth-grade student who plays on the fencing, volleyball, and squash teams, and also enjoys computer science and economics. Sara spends most free time writing, drawing, and reading. This is Sara’s second year of participating in Science Bowl.
Isabel is an eighth-grade student who loves languages and science and is an avid reader. She hopes to become a doctor and has always had a passion for biology. This is her second year competing on a Science Bowl team.
Josie is an eighth-grade student from Hopkins School who is a swimmer and avid reader, who loves movies and traveling. She hopes to pursue a career in biology and has always been interested in science. This is her first year competing on a Science Bowl team.
