Peer Review Policy

All research projects supported by the Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) undergo regular peer review and evaluation based on the procedures set down in 10 CFR Part 605 for the extramural grant program and in a parallel procedure for BER research at the DOE Laboratories and scientific user facilities. Peer review of BER projects is performed to provide an independent assessment of the scientific and/or technical merit of the research by peers having knowledge and expertise equal to that of the researchers whose work they review.
