Recommender Information

For an application to the Visiting Faculty Program (VFP) to be complete, we require recommendations from two individuals. These individuals should be familiar with the applicant's academic background, training, experience, abilities, or potential relevant to the VFP. These requirements apply to faculty and student applicants.

Key Requirements for Recommendations:

  • Submission Deadline: Recommenders must submit their completed recommendation form by the application deadline.
  • Qualified Recommenders: Recommendations are not permitted from family members, friends, or friends of family members. Please choose professional references who can objectively assess the applicant's capabilities.

How the Recommendation Process Works:

  1. Applicant Action: You will provide contact information for your recommenders within the online application system.
  2. Automated Request: Once you submit this information, an automated email will be sent to your recommenders. This email will contain instructions and access details for the online recommendation system.
  3. Recommender Action: Recommenders must complete and submit their recommendation form directly through the online system by the application deadline.

Important Notes for Applicants:

  • Early Request: We strongly encourage you to request recommendations as soon as possible.
  • Prior Discussion: Discuss your request with potential recommenders in advance and allow them ample time to complete the form.
  • Follow-Up: It is your responsibility to remind your recommenders to submit their forms by the application deadline.
  • Submission Method: All recommendations must be submitted via the online system. Email submissions or other methods will not be accepted, and there are no exceptions.
