The Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Reservation is home to a world-leading research and manufacturing park, with major federal programs in the areas of science, environmental management, energy efficiency, nuclear energy, and national security. In addition to its role as the SC Integrated Support Center, the Oak Ridge Office serves as the lead for DOE’s cross-reservation activities (excluding the Y-12 National Security Complex). These include fleet management, reservation-wide emergency management, roads and grounds maintenance for much of the reservations 33,000 acres, natural resources management, and the management and disposition of underutilized DOE assets for regional economic development purposes. ORO works closely with its DOE counterparts in Oak Ridge in executing these functions, and it is through all offices working together that accomplishments are realized to benefit both internal and external customers.
