Real Property Management

Real Property Management provides a consistent approach for all real property transactions throughout the Office of Science (SC). The ISC advises on and reviews real estate transactions to assure compliance with applicable requirements to the SC complex. The ISC ensures that the government and the contractor real property transactions comply with applicable statutes, regulations, directives, terms, and conditions of the contract, and good business practices. The Real Estate Staff oversee Contractor Real Estate activities in accordance with published guidelines. Real Estate activities typically include land, improvements, and any of the rights that exist in real estate which determine how it may be used e.g. easement, license, permit, and lease. ISC employees are certified in one or more of the three realty areas: (1) acquisition, (2) leasing, (3) land management and disposal. These Real Estate Contracting Officers/Certified Realty Specialists are authorized to prepare and implement real property actions within certified realty areas.
