The purpose of this announcement is to inform you of a job opportunity for a Physical Scientist GS-1301-15 position in the Office of Science (SC), Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR), Advanced Computing Technologies (ACT) Division located in Germantown, MD.

The Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research has an opening for a program manager to serve as a recognized science and technology authority and expert resource on next generation high performance computing capabilities. The program manager will serve as an expert and consultant to other computational scientists and senior management in areas of assigned responsibility. As such, the program manager has the responsibility to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate advanced computing technologies research programs including quantum computing and hybrid technologies on a national and international level. Among the program manager’s other duties include organizes, participates in, and/or leads committees composed of agency, interagency, and government personnel for the purpose of representing the agency and programmatic interests; and consults and negotiates with leading government scientific personnel, both nationally and internationally, on sensitive issues and complex areas of importance to all involved parties. The program manager redefines facilities and research operations to support the increased computational needs of the other organizational multidisciplinary experimental facilities and to develop new programs focused on development of testbeds to support advanced computing technologies research including future computing technologies such as quantum computing and quantum simulation.
