Quin Miller
Research Scientist, Energy & Critical Materials
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Quin Miller is a Senior Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where he focuses on subsurface science and the development of new approaches for unlocking and recovering new critical mineral resources. His work advances strategies for engineering fluid–rock interactions in geologic systems, with applications to energy and resource technologies. These team science efforts span experimental, field-based, and computational studies aimed at unlocking unconventional resources at scale, bridging fundamental and applied science insights. In parallel, Miller plays a leading role in mentoring and workforce development at PNNL, helping build internship programs that have trained cohorts of students across DOE initiatives. Miller received his Geochemistry PhD training from Prof. John Kaszuba at the University of Wyoming, conducted research at ORNL with Gernot Rother through the SCGSR program, and earned his Geology B.A. from Whitman College. Miller conducted his post-bach and post-doctoral geochemistry research at PNNL with mentor/supervisor H. Todd Schaef.
