Marc Pardee has over 13 years of teaching experience, most recently teaching grades 9-12 at The Center of Applied Sciences and Technology (The COAST) in Bolivia, North Carolina. For the past five years at The COAST, he has taught Aerospace Engineering, and for the last two years has also taught Drone Technology. Prior to this position, he taught grades 9-12 at West Brunswick High School in Shallotte, NC, teaching AP Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Earth and Environmental Science. As a transplant from Connecticut, he started his teaching career at Naugatuck High School in Naugatuck, CT teaching AP and Honors Physics. Before teaching, Marc spent 8 years as a Mechanical Engineer.
Marc Pardee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Central Connecticut State University, and a Master's of Science degree in Secondary Science Education with a concentration in Physics. During his time teaching, he has cross endorsed to teach Science, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) and served as CTE department chair at The COAST. Marc Pardee has earned his National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adulthood Physics and is a former recipient of the NASA North Carolina Space Grant, serving as a NC Space Education Ambassador. Marc's educational philosophy emphasizes project based learning and providing authentic learning experiences for students. He feels that students learn best by doing, and strongly believes that embedding authentic learning experiences and cross curricular content with hands-on inquiry activities is best for student learning and skill development. Marc is most interested with how to successfully bridge between emerging workforce skills and needs, and content and skill development in the classroom.
