Tracey Beckendorf-Edou

Prior to her work as an Einstein Fellow for the Department of Energy, Dr. Tracey Beckendorf-Edou was a math coach for the Renton School District in Renton, Washington as part of the Microsoft Math Partnership. During her fellowship, she worked in the Office of Science’s Office of Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists at Department of Energy Headquarters. She was especially interested in learning about research experiences for teachers and in sharing her interest in professional development. Tracey currently serves as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning for Oak Ridge Schools in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Oak Ridge Schools recently became the first school district in Tennessee to become entirely AdvancED STEM certified. Tracey is also highly involved in the school district’s digital technology initiative, Access Oak Ridge, as well as the district’s partnership with the State of Tennessee and the Carnegie Foundation in the Tennessee Early Literacy Network.
