Evan Smith is a high school STEM teacher from Frank McCourt High School in New York City. He has worked in private school, international school, and most recently, public school, teaching everything from elementary school science to AP Calculus. His most recent work includes an integrated science and math class for ninth graders, a course in computer coding design for the 3D printer, and project-based pre-calculus and calculus courses. Evan served as the union leader in his school and led state-wide professional development in teaching geometry using 3D modeling. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering from Bucknell University and a Master’s Degree in math education from Hunter College, State University of New York, and has completed coursework for a license extension in special education. His is also a Math for American Master Teacher Fellow.
