Chris Wright comes to his Fellowship appointment as a secondary mathematics resource teacher from Baltimore County Public Schools in Towson, MD. Chris is serving his Fellowship in The House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce. He has been teaching for eight years, starting as a high school mathematics instructor. Chris taught a range of high school mathematics courses, including algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and AP Statistics. After five years of service to Dundalk High School, Chris transitioned into a resource teacher role for his district, where he acted as a math coach and curriculum developer, servicing over 60 middle and high schools across the diverse Baltimore County Public Schools. During his role as resource teacher, Chris also oversaw the Accelerated Mathematics Achievement (AMA) program for Baltimore County Public Schools. This program serviced over 500 middle school students each school year across 5 middle schools in an effort to eliminate achievement gaps for those at or just below grade level.

Chris earned his B.S. in mathematics from Michigan State University, earning a secondary teaching certificate in both secondary mathematics and physics. Chris earned his M.S. in secondary mathematics education from Towson University.
