About

This webinar will give an introduction for students, postdocs, and early career professors/staff scientists on how to write successful proposals and identify funding opportunities within the DOE Office of Basic Energy Sciences (DOE BES). The format will consist of two 20-minute presentations from the speakers, followed by a 20-min Q&A with the audience. This webinar is free and open to the public.

Speakers

Dr. Aura Gimm is currently the Program Manager for Biomolecular Materials at DOE BES. She has extensive experience directing basic and applied research programs, including oversight of the Department of Defense science and technology investments and modernization efforts in biological sciences. She also has managed multidisciplinary basic research portfolios in biological materials with the Air Force and managed Research Centers on nanomaterials and biotechnology with the Army. Before her federal roles, Dr. Gimm taught biomedical engineering at Duke University.
