Federal R&D Budget Process Webinar

The Department of Energy, Basic Energy Sciences, Early Career Network (DOE BES ECN) webinar on the Federal R&D Budget Process has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 24th, 4 - 5 pm EST (1 - 2 pm PST) via Zoom, and is open to the public.
This webinar will consist of a 45 minute presentation with a 15 min Q&A session to follow. The purpose of the webinar is to inform early career scientists about the Federal R&D budget process, including insight into how budgets are formulated by agencies, sent to the President, Congress, and then ultimately turned into law, as well as the process behind the formation of new initiatives.
Speakers
We are pleased to welcome Mr. Damon Dozier as our presenter. He is the Director of Government Affairs for the Materials Research Society (MRS). Based in Washington, D.C., his duties include developing government relations strategies and programs, informing members about legislative developments, and serving as a chief advocate on interdisciplinary materials research and technology issues. He has over 20 years of government and policy experience, including serving as an Assistant Advocate for Environmental Policy with the Small Business Administration, a Legislative Assistant on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and the Director of Government and Public Affairs for the National Small Business Association. Dozier also served as the Legislative Director for former Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald. Dozier received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Council of Engineering and Social Science Executives (CESSE).
