DOE Early Career Award for Elizabeth Biddinger’s CCNY Biomass Research

Elizabeth J. Biddinger, assistant professor of chemical engineering in The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering, is one of 84 recipients nationwide of U.S. Department of Energy Early Career Awards announced today. She’ll receive $750,000 over five years for her research in the emerging field of biomass electroreduction.

UMD Engineers, Colleagues Work to Triple the Energy Storage of Lithium-ion Batteries

A collaboration led by scientists at the University of Maryland (UMD)’s A. James Clark School of Engineering, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the U.S. Army Research Lab have developed and studied a new cathode material that could triple the energy density of lithium-ion battery electrodes.
