Inspiration...Achievement...Promise
That's what we're celebrating today. The 13 Department of Energy winners of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers were chosen from among their peers as the best in achievement; the brightest in promise. As PECASE winners, they have earned the highest honor our government can bestow on early-career scientists and engineers.
We've gathered to recognize their inspiration, their achievement. It's fitting that we do so. But what we cannot truly do is recognize the potential, the promise that these individuals will live to fulfill. These winners are our best achievers; our future leaders. In the days and decades to follow, they will keep our nation at the leading edge of science and technology, innovation and discovery.
So let's applaud them today for their achievements; and for the hope and promise they represent.
Join us as we welcome them, this year's winners of the Department of Energy's Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers.
