WASHINGTON, DC – US Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu will present the 2009 Ernest Orlando Lawrence Award on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Secretary Chu will be joined by Under Secretary for Science Dr. Steve Koonin and Director of the Office of Science Dr. William Brinkman in honorning this year’s awardees.
The Ernest Orlando Lawrence Award honors scientists and engineers at mid-career for exceptional contributions in research and development that support the Department of Energy and its mission to advance the national, economic and energy security of the United States. The award consists of a gold medal, a citation and an honorarium of $50,000.
