Dr. Kayla Davis an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Policy Fellow within the Department of Energy Office of Science’s Office of Scientific Workforce Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (SW-DEI). Dr. Davis is a cell biologist by training and received her Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University and her B.S. in Biochemistry from Oklahoma State University. She is passionate about developing and supporting a diverse STEM workforce and equitable access to STEM education and training. Dr. Davis has been a champion of ethics and equity in science throughout her career. She was co-founder of the Oklahoma Science Project, established to empower Oklahoma students, especially from underrepresented backgrounds, to pursue education and careers in STEM fields; and co-founder of CodeSciLab, established to address an urgent need for equitable access to no-cost computer science curriculum tied to next generation science standards.
