Dr. Gail Webster is an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Policy Fellow within the Department of Energy Office of Science’s Office of Scientific Workforce Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (SW-DEI). Dr. Webster received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Analytical Chemistry from North Carolina State University, and a B.S. in Secondary Chemistry Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an experienced STEM educator at both the high school and college levels. Most recently, Dr. Webster was a Professor and Lincoln Financial Chair of Chemistry at Guilford College. Prior to that, she taught at the North Carolina School for Science and Math, North Carolina State University, and the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Her scholarly efforts were focused on the development of curricular materials for inclusive, evidence-based pedagogy in college-level general chemistry courses. She has led efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion for an educational non-profit organization and she developed a public school-private college partnership STEM outreach program for middle school students.
