Welcome to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science (SC) website for the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF) Management and Operating (M&O) contract competition.

TJNAF is one of ten Office of Science National Laboratories and is also a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC). TJNAF is a single program laboratory with a primary mission of delivering breakthrough science and technology in the area of Nuclear Physics. TJNAF is expected to become a multi-purpose laboratory within the next few years with the award and siting of SC’s Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) high performance data facility.

The purpose of this contract competition is to solicit and award a new M&O contract that will result in improved contractor performance and cost efficiencies at TJNAF. DOE expects that this competition will elicit new and innovative approaches for planning the Laboratory’s future. The successful offeror will be expected to assume full responsibility for Laboratory operation on June 1, 2025.

Additional information about the competitive process for this M&O contract will be announced on this website when available.
