Team Approval Process
Acceptance Requirements:

  • Completion of online registration on National Site including a minimum of four team members and a cell phone contact for the coach.
  • Receipt by HSB of signed media release forms for students and coach(s). (Note: Must use the Hawaii Regional Science Bowl Release Form)
  • For Team 2 applications, a different coach must be named on the online application.

October 1, 2019

  • Registration site opens at 12 noon East Coast time. Go to http://hawaiisciencebowl.pcatt.org to register. (Prior to this date, the link to the National site will not be operational so do not input data before the National site is operational.  In addition, it is recommended that a new account be created rather than using last year’s sign in and password.)
  • 2020 Rules posted on website. (Note: 2018 Rules are currently posted.)

November 1, 2019

  • HSB will accept and notify Team 1 from any school that has met the above acceptance requirements.
  • HSB will send an email reminder about the application deadline to school contacts that have an incomplete application or have not submitted an application.

November 15, 2019

  • Application Deadline-Online registration must be completed and submitted, and HSB Media Release forms for all students and the coach must be emailed to Ms. Lauren Knapp at  Lauren_Kaupp/CIB/HIDOE@notes.k12.hi.us or via Lotus Notes.
  • Your registration will not be complete until both of these items are completed and verified.

November 29, 2019

  • HSB will notify Team 1 (if not previously notified) and Team 2 from each school whether they have been accepted, wait listed or declined.
  • HSB will notify Neighbor island schools whether they will be eligible for a travel subsidy or whether they will need to fund their own travel.

December 9, 2019

  • Deadline to submit changes to Team members.
  • Deadline for Neighbor Island schools to submit travel form and any special travel requests.
  • Deadline for submittal of DOE media release forms or notification that forms are on file at the school (DOE schools only).
