Michelle Steever (San Jose, CA) has taught physics, algebra, robotics, and engineering design for twenty-five years and is currently teaching high school physics and algebra. Ms. Steever has also taught a science methods course to pre-service teachers at San Jose State University. Ms. Steever obtained a B.S. in engineering science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and worked as a Materials and Process Engineer for Westinghouse prior to completing her teaching credential. After obtaining her Master’s degree in instructional technology from San Jose State University, Ms. Steever became the lead instructor and designer for a Physics First Program. Ms. Steever is a member of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Advisory committee and has been responsible for teacher professional development as a Tech Fellow with the Tech Museum of San Jose and as a GEMS Associate with Lawrence Hall of Science. Ms. Steever’s honors include Lincoln High School Teacher of the Year, Teacher of the Year for RAFT (Resource Area for Teachers), and Prudential Realty Outstanding Educator.
