1.0  Applicability

This procedure applies to all managers, supervisors, and the Servicing Human Resources (HR) Office Staff in the Integrated Support Center (Chicago Office [SC-CH] and Oak Ridge Office [SC-OR]) responsible for properly carrying out disciplinary actions.

2.0  Required Procedure

Step 1

  1. The immediate supervisor contacts the HR Specialist to discuss his or her concerns involving the employee’s conduct.

  2. The HR Specialist will advise the supervisor and assist him or her in drafting and finalizing the formal reprimand.

Step 2

  1. The employee may appeal the reprimand through the Agency’s administrative grievance procedures or the negotiated grievance process.

  2. The supervisor must contact the HR Specialist for assistance

Step 3

The supervisor, with assistance from the appropriate HR Specialist, will follow the applicable procedures outlined in the Agency’s administrative grievance procedures or the negotiated grievance process.
